There are a lot of ways to apply for that job you're looking for, and you have the choice of either using all the routes of application or just choosing the one that seems best. The most used method of applying for a job today is uploading your resume on job portals. These websites give you the advantage of browsing for openings in your field and once you have posted your resume, employers can view it and directly contact you. For a wide choice under one roof you could attend job fairs conducted by HR Consultants, Newspapers and Web Portals. At the fair you will be able to look up companies and approach the ones you are interested in for a job. You can also take the assistance of various placement cells / job consultants across the city. Most consultants have tie-ups with companies for hiring and do the first level of short-listing of candidates. If you're in college then approach your college placement cell as they co-ordinate with companies for campus recruitment and will help you out. Most institutes that offer courses for BPO/Call Center training also help you with placements, hence if you're taking up a course make sure to check if they will help you with this. There is also the option of applying directly on company websites after checking for job openings. Most companies have online forms or HR email ids in their career section along with job postings. You could also ask friends in the industry to refer you to their companies. A lot of companies have referral schemes for employees and if you get the job through a referral your friend would benefit too. The age old route can also be taken – check out the job classifieds in different newspapers as companies advertise their requirements in most dailies. The ads will have details of the job and application method. As an applicant you have a lot of options not only in the method of applying for jobs but also in choosing the kind of job you want. So choose well and use the above routes to get the job you want.
