Technical support services help the user solve tecnical problems with a product—rather than providing training, customization, or other support services. For instance, a person who has bought a digital camera might not be able to transfer the photos from the camera to his computer. He will call the support number of the camera manufacturer. The TSR on the other end of the phone will help the customer resolve the issue. Technical Support Representatives are also known as Product Support Specialist.

 

By providing good after sales service for a given product in the form of technical support and problem solution, a TSR plays an important role in boosting a customer’s satisfaction, creating positive publicity for the product and indirectly help in increasing its sale. He represents the company as far as the customer is concerned.
